From: nochance@nospam.no              The weather here seems to have been gloomy and dull for the last few weeks,       or maybe it is my general mood. At least it is forecast to be mild for the       rest of the week which might encourage things to pop up. Typical late       species found yesterday. Collybia butyracea with the buttery caps (shame       they don't taste of butter (I presume)), Hypholoma marginatum- which I       consider to be the sulphur tuft of the coniferous woodland. No Blewits       although quite a few Clitocybe fragrans which is named Lepista fragrans in       one of my books. Easy for me to identify with its odour which is described       as anise but to me is identical to the smell of Polish gingerbread.       Apparently poisonous (the fungus not the gingerbread).              Last week's storm has brought down trees as predicted, blocking some tracks       through the forest. If you wanted to create an impenetrable fortress just       dump some whole felled spruces around it and nobody would get in. If it's       not the weather it's the forestry people who seem to be harvesting in every       forest I visit. I feel kind of sad when the little mini landscapes and       corridors which I have known for the last 20 years get obliterated.       Inevitable though because these trees have been grown for resource and       money, not just for my pleasure. Good to see replanting though.              Saw a solitary Amanita muscaria poke out from some brash in a thinned       corridor. Thought that was the latest I'd ever found them but, checking my       records, I had a find 6 years ago today.                            ---       This email is free from viruses and malware because avast!
