|    Netscape 7.2 and port 5180    |

From: canthaveit@all.com              Anyone know why Netscape opens the port 5180, 5190 is AOL instant       messenger, but on 2 of my pc's on the LAN netscape opens up port 5180,       on the 3rd it doesn't and they are all installed the same. It's a       local host loopback, and it's listening on 127.0.0.1. I've searched       the web, but no good answer, and I don't understand why it doesn't do       it on the one comp and does it on the others. The one that it doesn't       do it on ahs been installed for about 6 months and hasn't been       re-installed, the other comp has a clean install and it does it, cause       I never use it to browse the web, unless the LAN goes down and for       testing purposes. HELP! :) I have a firewall to block it, but still       would like to know what causes it to open port 5180, I hate       unnecessary ports, especially with all the spyware and trojans on the       internet these days, it's a shame that people have to be like that.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
