|    Keeping Netscape for mailto: links    |
|    25 Apr 05 10:17:46    |
From: aluddy@adelphia.net              I have used Netscape for, well, pretty much the past decade, but I am       considering switching to Firefox as my default browser, because there doesn't       seem to be any play to update Netscape beyond 7.2 in a coherent fashion (8.0       appears to be a special purpose version for AOL users). However, because I       make       extensive use of a netscape.net address, I would like to continue to read my       email in Netscape, rather than switching to Thunderbird or the complete Mozilla       package, because I would like to be able to look at the netscape.net address       along with my other POP accounts.              However, after installing Firefox, and having allowed that to become the       default       browser. Now, though, I find that clicking on a mailto: link attempts to open       Outlook (shudder). Is there any way to replace Netscape as the default browser       while keeping Netscape as the default mail program?              I am running Windows XP Pro with SP2, Netscape 7.2, and Firefox 1.0.3.              TIA       --       Andy Luddy       aluddy@adelphia.net       "He who cannot forgive breaks the bridge over which he himself must pass."        ...
