   I tried this, and the behavior of Firefox didn't change.  Nor does entering a   
   "mailto:" address in Start/Run (it also opens Outlook).  Thanks for offering,   
   though. Doug.  Never knew what "Set Program Access and Defaults" did before.   
   Apparently, not much (thanks, M'soft).   
      
   Is anyone using Netscape Mail with some other browser?
