Its an intended replacement/alternative to       AOL's currrent IE based browser. If you are not using AOL's IE based       browser now, there is really no reason to go to Netscape 8.       With AOL's track record on updates, there is also some concern over how       long this 'new' program will remain supportted by AOL. Whether or not       updates will be forthcoming or not                     Netsape 8 is simply Firefox, and then some added AOL enhancements to       emulate its current IE based browser when used on the AOL system.       Instead of changing their system to web-standards, they 'enhanced' the       program to perform just like IE does instead. While on their system       (AOL) they can be sure there are no 'security' exploits to worry about,       the 'enhancements' neccessary to Firefox to emulate IE create certain       vulnerablities if used outside the AOL system.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
