   Netscape 8 is based on Firefox, and as such doesnt include mail or   
   newsgroups.   
      
      
   Netscape 8 is intended as a replacement/alternative to AOLs current IE   
   based browser. It is basically Firefox, with some 'enhancements' to   
   enable it to work with the IE centric AOL system. There are no Linux nor   
   Macintosh versions.   
      
   The only people (imho) who should really be using Netscape 8 are AOL   
   users who want to switch from the IE based AOL browser they now use.   
   Users on the internet (not the AOL system) will be much better served by   
   using Firefox and Thunderbird
