   IIRC, the version of IM that came with Netscape 7 was a stripped down   
   version of the stand alone AIM.  I don't recall ICQ as having any   
   security issues.   
      
   Netscape 8 looks like it has a stripped down version too.   
      
   I still use AIM 4.3.2229.
