   I have a proxy server (jana-server.de) and everything runs OK except   
   Netscape 8 when trying to get the webmail (xy@netscape.net).   
   From the firewall I have seen that Netscpae tries to access the proxy   
   for normal access to the internet, but when going to   
   https://my.screenname.aol.com for webmail it tries to go to the address   
   12.166.243.30, thus bypassing the proxy.   
   In the preferences I have definend all protocols using the same proxy   
   but Netscace 8 does not bother about.   
   It terminates with error code -5990.   
      
   The same behaviour is known from Micro$oft Windows Update but the   
   Micro$oft solution (proxycfg -u) does not work for Netscape.   
      
   Installing a Netscape 7.2 version directly on the proxy server with   
   direct access to the internet works fine, therefore it must be a real   
   problem of Netscape 8.   
      
   Hoes anyone had the same problem and found a solution ?
