   That sounds like you tried to install it in Netscape.   
      
   Netscape7 and Firefox are both based on Mozilla.  Extensions that will   
   work in one can sometimes be installed in the other. Firefox has a   
   mechanism that usually stops it from installing an extension that is not   
   compatible with the program.  Netscape has no such mechanism.   
      
   I suspect you looked at the page in Netscape, clicked on the link and   
   the xpi installed.   
      
   Installing an extension in Firefox will have no effect on Netscape at   
   all.  Installing an extension designed for Firefox in Netscape might   
   very well.   
      
   As for as the Greasemonkey extension, I have never used it, so I can't   
   speak to it specifically.
