   Sometimes my newsgroup list lists new messages that don't show up.  They   
   are not being filtered out by my filters, they just don't really exist,   
   yet my counter seems to think they do.  They expire after a while.   
      
   This seems to happen more when I subscribe to a new group, come back   
   from a vacation (and have tons of messages waiting) or crash the computer.   
      
   Any idea what the ghosts are?  Where the counter is stored?  Why it   
   doesn't get reset properly?
