   I assume you mean you were prompted to create a new profile.  This is   
   most likely because there was a stuck process of netscape.exe. To   
   correct this, you need to start NS8's Profile Manager.   
      
   To open NS*'s Profile Manager, click Start>>>Run, type netscape.exe -p   
   in the field, and click OK.  Note the space after exe, it is important.   
      
   Note, this works, unless you have NC4.x installed.  If you do, you will   
   need the complete path to netscape.exe for the Netscape Browser.   
      
   Once PM is open, you can delete the newly created profile and go back to   
   your original profile.   
      
   Should you see the prompt to create a new profile again, cancel out,   
   open Task Manager, and kill any running instances of netscape.exe that   
   you see.
