   Yes, tabs were introduced in NS6.   
      
   The short answer is, don't use tabs. If the box is unchecked, can you   
   give a specific example of a site that is opening tabs, and what you are   
   doing when a new tab is opened.   
      
   To enforce no tabs, you can always right click and select open in new   
   window.
