I think the problem was mostly at my end. I added two yahoo addresses to
   my
mailbox by cutting and pasting their addresses from an incoming email.
   This caused
the resultant email address to have the person's name prefixed to the
   actual email
address, all of which was bracketed. When I sent out emails, the
   resultant recipient
address had an extra set of brackets around it and now appeared in the
   following
format: Joe Jones <"Joe Jones >. It should have
   come out
as: jonesmail@yahoo.com. Had I entered the name and address properly in
   the
'new card' portion of the address book, this would not have happened.
   This is partly
the result of sending out emails in the wee hours of the morning. I
   think Yahoo
handles this kind of situation differently from my Comcast service.
   Sending this similar
kind of bad address to Comcast resulted in an immediate rejection of non
   acceptance telling
me that they have no such customer. The Yahoo error showed up as a
   rejection email
from Yahoo that the address was not resolvable. I should have looked more
   carefully
at the evidence before just assuming it was Yahoo's fault. I was also
   misled by a prior
experience, when I had other problems with Yahoo.
