   I don't know what you mean about the max button, but for javascript,   
   in the address bar type in about:config and look for this entry:   
      
   dom.disable_window_move_resize   
      
   when found double click on it and change it to true   
      
   also look for the entry of   
      
   dom.disable_window_flip   
      
   and change that to true, aswell
