On the Win 98 machine, your Netscape 4.73 will be installed in        C:\Program Files\Netscape\Communicator\Program        and your mail will be stored in one or more files in        C:\Program Files\Netscape\Users\<***PROFILE-NAME***>\Mail               The mail files which you want to copy from the Win98 machine are        the files with no extension (e.g. "Inbox") and not the files        with an ".snm" extension (e.g. "Inbox.snm").               If there are file folders with a .sbd extension, look inside them        for more mail files with no extension.               Transfer these files (with no extension) to the Win XP machine.                     B. On the Win XP machine, find where your "Local Folders" mail files        are stored...               1. Go to Tools -> Account Settings -> Local Folders        2. Check the location given in the "Local Directory" box.        3. Go to this location in Windows Explorer. You may first        need to tell Win XP to "show hidden files and folders".               Now copy the Netscape 4.73 mail files from 'A' into this location.        But first, rename any of the Netscape 4.73 mail files so that they        do not overwrite files already in "Local Folders".        For example, rename the Netscape 4.73 mail file "Inbox"        to (say) "Inbox_old".              C. Now restart Thunderbird.                            --       Cheers,       Ralph              "Curiosity skilled the cat."              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
