From: Not@home              When I ran 7.2, I would occasionally experience the apparent loss of       bookmarks. I found that the missing ones had just been mysteriously       relocated within the bookmark hierarchy. I had folders for travel,       finance, car, etc., and if I opened all the bookmark folders, I would       find the seemingly missing items, and relocate them to where I wanted them.              So I would suggest you expand every item using the manage bookmarks       selection, and see if your missing bookmarks have just been relocated.              Before figuring this out, I started backing up the bookmarks file to       prevent recurrence of the apparent loss. In retrospect, I think backing       up is a good habit and I shouldn't have gotten out of it. With my       earliest computers, backing up was always emphasized; now they seem to       have abandoned the practice. I'd like to find an automatic backup       program, free, of course.              Bob Williams wrote:       > PC, 2.1 GHz, 120GB H.D., Win Xp, Cox.net ISP, Netscape 7.2 Browser       > I had about 150 Bookmarks stored in the Bookmark File.       > A few days ago, I tried to access a saved bookmark and about 100 were gone.       > What happened....?       > Can they be retrieved?       > What can I do to prevent a recurrence?       >              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
