However, you are correct, Netscape 7.2 does store its       cache data in the profile folder.              Clearing the cache periodically is a good idea. Compacting the mail       folders also saves space.              Although, with the size of modern backup devices, its a pretty minor       point. I do a full system backup every night. Do I need to? Not       really, but its easy to do, fast, and the usb drive has far more then       enough space to hold it all. I then know that, no matter what may be       lost, it can be recovered.              I've had remarkably little trouble with profile data. I've never lost       bookmarks, lost mail data once through pilot error. The only times I've       ever had to restore prefs.js was when I was messing around with editing it.              I have been doing support for Mozilla products for about 3 years now.       In that time, I've helped people who have lost bookmarks, cookies,       passwords, mail, extensions, and other settings. All of it could be       restored if the profile was backed up.              Lee              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
