   Any time you create a mail or news account, then remove it, the listing   
   for the account remains behind in prefs.js.  You can get 30 listings for   
   15 accounts pretty easily.   
      
   If you can isolate which are true and which are holdovers, you can edit   
   them out of prefs.js.  its actually probably easier to create a new   
   profile, and migrate the data, then to try to clean up the old profile.
