   To configure tab preferences, Tools>>Options

Click on Tabbed browsing on the the left.

I don't see anything in there that should be causing all links to open
in new tabs. Unless you are clicking on links that are targeted for new
windows, this should not be happening.

From here a normal left click open the link in the current tab. Middle
   click opens a new tab.

So when you left click a link, it opens a new tab? I've been messing
around in about:config, and I cannot get it to behave like that.

Could you create a new profile to test:

   Tools>>Options

Click Profiles on the left. Click the ASdd Profile button and folow
   directions.

Does the new profile behave the way you want?
