Use Explorer and:       1. In the old .slt folder, open the prefs.js file with Netscape or       Notepad) and print it. Usually, you'll just need the first 2 pages.       2. Search for the first occurrence of the word "description". To the       right, between quote marks, will be the name of one of your created       address books. Note the exact name, including spaces, case, and punctuation.       3. Two lines below, to the right of the word "filename", will be a       filename, between quote marks. This file is associated with the name of       the address book identified in step 2. It will be something like       abook-1.mab or impab.mab. Note the exact name.       4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each of the address books you've created.       You do not have to do this for the default Personal or Collected address       books. If you had created three address books, you will have three names       and three associated files.       5. Launch the email program, open Address Book (Ctrl-5), and create new       books using the identical names that you located in step 2.       6. Close the email program (and browser, if open).       7. In the new .slt folder, open the prefs.js file. Locate each of the       names of your address books (as in step 2) and note the names of the       associated files (as in step 3).       8. Copy each .mab file from the old .slt folder into the new .slt       folder, and rename each to match the name in the new prefs.js file. If       the new .slt folder already has a file with the same name, overwrite it       when copying. In renaming, if you are trying to rename to an existing       file, delete (or rename) the existing file.              Launch the email program and all your old addresses should be in the       proper book. The only things that will be missing are the collected       addresses. They are stored in the history.mab file, and even when I       copied the old one into the new .slt folder, they didn't appear in the       new Collected book. But they weren't really important.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
