   What is SeaMonkey set to in;   
   [Tools-->Options]*-->Advanced-->Software Installation   
         the settings there enable/disable updates   
      
   When you perform an update you shouldnt have to day ANY of those items   
   (home page/news servers etc) as those are kept in a different area from   
   the program in the first place.
