Hi - I waited to follow up on this until I had completely un-installed
Netscape and re-installed a fresh copy of 8.1.3.

Alas, it is still doing the same weird thing. When Opening or Closing
Netscape, ENTIRE SCREEN goes momentarily black.

   I am running XP.

Me too -- I have never heard of any such thing.

Suggestions welcome, what it could be. It is not hindering operation,
but is disconcerting and -- well -- "weird"!

   TIA
