   Netscape 4.8 works here, no hang.   
      
   Try creating a new profile and testing with that profile.   
      Start -> Programs -> Netscape Communicator -> Utilities -> User Profile   
   Manager   
      
   Re-installing the program does not touch your user profile, it only   
   re-loads the executable program.  The problem may be with your   
   user profile.
