   Seamonkey (the offshoot of the Mozilla suite, which was the offshoot of the   
   old Netscape suite) would be better, if only because of the hundreds of   
   security holes that have been plugged since the version you are using. If   
   you're not using it for Web browsing, that's probably not a concern.   
      
   Personally, I prefer using a dedicated app that is designed specifically   
   for the purpose intended, rather than something that tries to do many   
   things, and none of them all that well. I never cared for Netscape's Usenet   
   interface, and that remains true to this day. Seamonkey has the same   
   interface.   
      
   The latest versions of Netscape (8 & 9) were merely rebadged versions of   
   Firefox, and were browsers only.
