   Late last night received this sad news (from a Motown pal) that my former   
   part-time WJR colleague Ken Calvert has died.   
      
   Didn't know well the Detroit Piston's play-by-play voice (and never worked   
   with him on any broadcasts), but I always found him an upbeat, genial fellow   
   when occasionally running into him in the WJR/Detroit station hallways during   
   my mid-1990s tenure    
   there as a commercial newstalk call-in host.   
      
   I'll leave it to his many Great Lakes State fans to add more data, at least   
   until Wiki editors catch up with his unfortunate demise.
