   I thought I knew a lot about the late (and quite-a) funnyman Greene.   
      
   More than a couple times I repeated his hilarious Sinatra-saved-my-life gag to   
   my talk radio audiences--a story which Jay Leno at least once claimed was the   
   funniest joke he'd ever heard by anyone anywhere--but I had zero idea that   
   Secretariat defeated    
   Shecky Greene down the home stretch at Churchill Downs!   
      
   Oh, and to one and all, Merry New Year; it's unfortunate that that losing   
   horse's winner-of-a-namesake couldn't make it at least to the 2023 finish line.
