   I keep (occasionally) hearing quite-possibly-UNreliable rumors that the   
   86-year-old Nicholson's reduced public visibility in recents last years is due   
   to his suffering early-stage (or even late-?) cognitive decline.   
      
   Anyone actually KNOW if there's truth to any of this?  (Wiki's entry adds   
   little or nothing to the question.)   
      
   For my own absolutely inconsequential part, I just hope it's all nonsense...as   
   one of the true titans of the 1960-80s American culture might have some   
   memorable, important character-actor roles still in store for his closing   
   years (just as the long-   
   declining Brando proved with his wonderful career-capping turn in "The   
   Freshman").
