If you are out of options it could be rational. This could be a       painful fatal disease or extreme torture. The stoic Seneca famously committed       suicide when a message        came from Nero suggesting he should. He knew full well the more painful       consequences if his welfare were to be taken out of his control and in the       control of others who have no regard for your welfare and well be delighted by       one's suffering. It's why        Cleopatra chose to accept the bite of a snake than become a high profile       prisoner of thee ambitious Octavian, AKA Augustus, displayed in his triumph       celebration march, only to be likely killed or at least enslaved afterward.       Vercingetorix, the leader of        the Gaulic tribes was killed after Caesar's triumph in which Vercingetorix was       the prime exhibit. Caesar had killed 1/3 of all Gauls in his wars, so he had       form.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
