   Figure skating coach and 1950s competitor Frank Carroll,   
   who I was once steps away from at the Collins tour stop   
   at the Meadowlands (I recognized him from television appearances),   
   born 1938,died June 9th 2024 according to the U.S. Figure Skating   
   Association and People magazine.   
      
   The best known of his champion students was probably   
   five-time world champion Michelle Kwan.
