   Well,with the candidates now set,her daughter Erica Lee Carter will   
   get that plum office from November to January as the Democratic shoo-in   
   nominee for the special election to finish the term,and then Sylvester   
   Turner,the Democratic shoo-in nominee for the 2025-7 term (who intends   
   to retire after one term past that,and endorsed Mrs. Carter for the   
   stopgap despite having come first in polls before she entered),will   
   have to take a leftover-available office in the incoming-member lottery   
   in January,rather than having dibs over the January newbies.   
      
   He would be able to upgrade somewhat for his intended-final 2027-9 term.
