From: davidc@wa-wd.com              Jimmy Carter set the all-time record for time as former president, at       53 years and 344 days. This crushed Herbert Hoover's 31 years and 200       days.              The next opportunity to tie Carter's record is December 30, 2054,       which would be 133 days after Bill Clinton's 108th birthday. Not only       is this highly unlikely to occur, but the number of current       alt.obituaries readers who will be around to witness it will surely be       small. The probability of Clinton tying Hoover's old record is more       realistic for both him and ourselves. He will have to live to 85 years       and 354 days old, and we will have to live another eight years, until       7 August 2032.              With Carter's death, the U.S. returns to having four living former       presidents. I have not done any analysis on this, but four former       presidents seems to be the central tendency or norm for this       statistic, at least during my lifetime.              US Presidents Day by Day       https://www.doadb.com/presidents.htm                     --       Dead or Alive Data Base       http://www.doadb.com              --- SoupGate-DOS v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
