For his 101st New Year,he made a Facebook post about a document
"The Living Christ" he'd signed along with the other then Apostles
for release January 1,2000 offering their religious "testimony".

This was picked up by the church-owned Deseret News/Church News
which both illustrates it and quotes it in full but curiously
deletes the serial comma in Nelson's listing of the other
surviving signatories.(The signatures appear in three columns,
the then First Presidency on the left, the senior six of the
Twelve in the middle, the junior six on the right...the four
survivors are the bottom two in the middle and the right
   hand columns).

Today (January 2nd) is the 7th anniversary of the death of
Thomas S. Monson, which made Nelson the senior leader though
his installation as Church President was 12 days later and
Monson (though younger than Nelson) had pretty much stopped
functioning as leader some time earlier.
