   I'm pretty sure you're going to be stuck paying a comparable price   
   for any shell service. But if you decide that it's worth it, I   
   would recommend Panix. I've been here for over twenty years, and   
   I've no complaints. Technical support, in particular, is quite   
   competently and cheerfully provided, in contrast to some other   
   services I've used.   
      
   There's also a thriving and interesting private netnews community,   
   which is the main reason I'm here.
