   Drill rapper Mello Buckzz (Melanie Doyle) had an album release party at   
   a lounge in downtown Chicago (north of the main channel of the Chicago   
   River but not in the Loop). Around 11 pm Wednesday 7/2/2025, as attendees   
   were outside in front of the lounge waiting to enter, a vehicle drove up   
   and a passenger sprayed gunfire into the crowd, kill 4 and wounding 14.   
      
   One of the dead was the rapper's significant other.   
      
   The rapper has claimed affiliation with a south side gang NLMB. Drill   
   rap song lyrics often include threats and words intended to provoke   
   rival gangs, leading to incidents like this. We've discussed the   
   assasination of FBG Duck at a jewelry store in broad daylight in 2020,   
   not too far from this location in this newsgroup.
