   The Providence Journal,WPRI,and others report that   
   Alan G. Hassenfeld,born November 16th 1948   
   (two days after King Charles III FWIW),   
   died July 8th 2025.   
      
   He was the last Hassenfeld Brother,   
   of the third generation thereof:   
   Henry and Hillel H. (with early help from Herman)   
   founded the original Hassenfeld Brothers,   
   Henry's sons Harold and Merrill divided   
   it into Empire Pencil and Hasbro,   
   and Merrill's sons Stephen (died 1989)   
   and Alan ran Hasbro after that,   
   with Alan retiring as CEO in 2003,   
   executive chairman in 2005,   
   non-executive chairman in 2008,   
   and chairman emeritus in 2024.   
      
   No family members have been in charge since.
