   Holocaust Survivor David Schaecter, Honored by Governor DeSantis, Passes   
   Away at 96   
      
   David Schaecter, a Holocaust survivor and recipient of Florida's   
   Governor's Medal of Freedom, passed away on Friday at the age of 96   
   Miami Herald is reporting Thursday. Schaecter had been recognized in March   
   by Governor Ron DeSantis during the inauguration of the Florida Holocaust   
   Memorial, a solemn monument to the victims of the Holocaust and the   
   survivors who rebuilt their lives in the Sunshine State.
