|    death of Bruce DuMont    |

From: ahk@chinet.com              His uncle Allen was the famed electrical engineer who developed a better       cathode ray tube and made millions, and the founder of the DuMont       Television Network.              Bruce DuMont was a Chicago television and radio producer and broadcast       host and host of the syndicated Beyond the Beltway political round       table.              He founded the Museum of Broadcast Communications, whose exhibits have       been in various locations and have had years-long gaps in which       everything was just in storage. He gave up his broadcast career       (although continued guest hosting and his syndicated show) to run the       museum. They own the Charlie McCarthy puppet and Chuck Schaden's       old-time radio program collection.              I was there on opening day. I knew him slightly through his museum       activities.              https://www.chicagotribune.com/2025/09/11/bruce-dumont-host-of-b       yond-the-beltway-and-founder-of-chicagos-museum-of-broadcast-com       unications-dies-at-81/              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
