   I thought there was a way to reset this default, but have not been   
   able to find it for my newsreader (Free Agent). I have, however, found   
   a way to override it for this NG, and have done so.   
      
   The ability to do both mail and follow-up remains useful in some   
   circumstances. For example, if one comes across an old post where   
   someone asks for information, and you have found it, and they might   
   not be still subscribed to that NG, or may no longer be using Usenet   
   at all, There is, of course, the possibility that their email address   
   may have chaned as well, but it does still increase the chances of the   
   information reaching them.
