   I've really enjoyed reading the book:   
      
   BLOOD AND THUNDER; An Epic of the American West   
   by, Hampton Sides, Random House, 2006   
      
   Can't vouch for the historical accuracy of the   
   book, but it has accounts of events I'd never   
   read before in any other historical accounts of   
   the old west. Example: The description of how   
   Charles Bent died in the short-lived uprising   
   in Taos.
