From: Gud-dam@dontemailme.com              I just returned from a driving trip after many       years of having not driven       the Rockie's eastern slopes, and it's mind       boggling to see what 20 years of un-staunched       development have done to the area. Everyone       desires to be 'up high' with a view, of course,       so this has led to building of homes in places       that challenge the building trades technically.       And then there are those 'zero lot' complexes       where hundreds of three story homes are so close       together one can hear their neighbor's conversation       through the walls. And we're talking half-million       dollar houses when they get to be 3 stories in size.       Simply amazing. In Colorado Springs I could see       cars lined up on a switch-back parking lot going       up the side of the mountain, with all that implies       aesthetically, and I presume it's a Park and Ride       lot for those commuting to Denver, or somewhere.              Just mind boggling to see the destruction of       the once beautiful mountain slopes despoiled by       all the development.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
