   Ouch!!!  I presume you're referring to the cook being   
   responsible for pulling teeth?   
      
   An aside. My granddad began his dental career as a   
   "traveling dentist." Sort of like the old time traveling   
   snake oil salesmen. He owned a small buggy of some   
   sort and a team of horses and traveled around east   
   Texas plying his trade. That's how he met my grandmother.   
   Dentists in Texas weren't licensed until the 1930s, when   
   my granddad was no. 23 in line - had license no. 23.
