   I'm trying to figure out what you're calling a "gunfight" at the   
   beginning of "True Grit". Until the meeting with the outlaws at the   
   cabin about halfway through, the only shooting is Tom Chaney murdering   
   Mr. Hayes with a rifle while he's trying to calm him down. The latter   
   never even pulled or attempted to pull his Colt Dragoon. Oh, and   
   Rooster shoots a rat, but I don't think you mean that scene either.
