   There were a number of people who came west with TB and lived a healthy   
   productive life.  Robert Campbell, a fur trapper, is a good example.  When   
   he was diagnosed with TB he began trapping in the west, opened trading posts   
   and eventually owned a lot of real estate in St, Louis.  He died at the age   
   of 75.
