From: gudie@dontemailme.com              In article <3f3d1258.55718749@news.door.net>, jdhargis@nospambisti.com says...              >I read somewhere that tacos were invented by some barkeep in San       >Antonio. Don't know if thats true, but it make a good story.              I've heard that same story about fajitas, salsa,       burritos, certain mixed drinks, etc. My own personal       all-time favorites are chile rellenos made       with roasted Anaheim chiles, stuffed with goat cheese,       dipped in egg white batter and fried. AMBROSIA!       And they're even good left over and reheated.              >The worst Mexican food I've ever eaten was at a place called the       >Outrageous Taco, located in Ellensburg Washington.              I've thought often about a missed opportunity I       once had to open a Taco Bell fast food restaurant       in Mobile, AL at a time when there was only one       so-called Mexican Food restaurant in the entire       region. The franchise would have been 'only'       28 grand back then, and the stumbling block for       me was the fact I'd not own a darned thing. I'd       be paying to "manage" their outlet for them.       But little did I realize back then what a gold       mine many of these fast-food franchises have       been. OTOH, some have gone belly up.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
