From: spammenottsauve@home.com              Yes siree, Open Range is a very good Western :)              I admire the way they did the shootout at the end because it did not present       the gunfighters as       these emotionless, calm and cool "shootists."              Bullets are flying everywhere with the vast majority of them NOT hitting their       mark. No one has       nerves of steel in such situations and I'm sure most of them shook like leaves       throughout.              The scenery is glorious, as is de rigeur for a Western. The acting is mostly       understated, which is       in my opinion more realistic. Robert Duvall is pretty much like Augustus       McCray in Lonesome Dove.              Most of it was filmed in the same places they shot Unforgiven and Legends of       the Fall. The gorgeous       set of the town site is on the Nakota Indian reservation, about 50 miles west       of Calgary, right on       the very edge of the foothills and the Rockies.              You don't want to miss this one! :)       --       Todd              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
