   Gunpowder poured over the wound and lite   
   will cauterize, Cobwebs applied to the wound will help to staunch the   
   blood. A red hot knife or other steel or iron implement will also   
   cauterize   
   (Careful with tempered steel as heating to that degree will ruin said   
   temper) and perhaps the simple bandana tied over the wound!?
