A movie that captures contemporary Indian life on a reservation very
well (IMO) is "Thunderheart " with Val Kilmer as an FBI agent of Sioux
ancestry who is sent to the reservation to investigate a murder. Based
partly on fact there is fictional subplot that is kind of contrived
but the details of reservation life are interesting.
