   Well, truth be told, the way I was raised it is hard for me to see all   
   the inter-racial couplings as "a good thing", but the willingness to   
   tolerate it without somebody getting run out of town or worse is   
   definitely a positive change for this part of the country. I'm 44   
   years old and have seen the town I live in go from strict,   
   apartheid-like segregation to what it is today starting from when I   
   was about 10. Hard to believe that the social landscape could be   
   altered so drastically in less than 35 years.
