   Ummmmm... I think of Texas as the "epitome"   
   of the "old west." At least the western   
   half of it!  In any event, the events that   
   occurred on the Texas frontier certainly   
   are right up there with the most important   
   elsewhere on the western frontier - perhaps   
   excepting the fact that Texas never   
   experienced a "gold rush" like so many other   
   spots in the old west.
