XPost: soc.history       From: nospam@abc.net              I can heartily recommend the novels of Terry C. Johnston as an example of a       Western writer       at the top of his game.              Pick up a few and read them through. Don't imitate his style but make note of       the richness       of the historical milieu that pours from his books. He really can transport       you,       especially his last works dealing with the post-Little Bighorn campaigns of       Nelson Miles       and "Bad Hand" Mackenzie.              It is astounding to me that not one of his novels has been turned into a movie.       --       Todd              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
